I loved this book as a kid and, when my daughter was born, it was one of the first I hunted down to add to our library. It's just as I remember it, maybe even better now that I can enjoy it with my own kiddos - it's quite the hoot when my little asks to read "Wife-ish" and chimes in on the fun with her own, "Bart barked!" A rip-roaring good read.

My daughter borrowed this book from the library without even looking at the cover. She just pulled it from the shelf and ran for the checkout counter. What a gem! She loves it and it's the first book her 17 month old brother has ever taken an interest in. Maybe it's because I read it with a cornpone accent. But whatever it is, he never tires of reading it. I read it to him 4 times in one day and he was still begging for it at bedtime. The illustrations are fun and complement the writing beautifully. I had a hoot reading it!
Perfect condition!
This used book was so damaged that it is not useable. Two pages were ripped and large pieces missing. It was listed in good condition.
It was a gift to a school librarian who had been looking for a copy.
This book was terrible! It was so water damaged that the pages stuck together. You could not turn the pages. Just awful!

This is absolutely the most fun to read aloud! You can ham it up so easily and use your best western cowpoke voice. And the pictures are perfect; even the smallest get the visual jokes. This book is a must-have.
